Springfield manufactured M1D Garand sniper rifle, serial #2232520, with M84 scope marked “2999”. Barrel Springfield Armory 11/52. All Springfield Armory parts, leather cheekpiece, and by collector’s tradition,this rifle was the property of Fred Johnson, master armorer to U.S. armory. The metal parts are fine to excellent as arsenal recondition. The stock is of commercial quality, and the cartouches may have beenreapplied by this master armorer for his own gun. Fred Johnson was well known to collectors and built several rifles for his personal use and collection and had the ability to create such a high quality stock.All correct military metal parts.
