Rare Drake Mfg. Corp National match slide manufactured in 1964. The Remington Rand frame was manufactured in 1943. Developed from the standard issued 1911's, the National Match pistols were accurized and fitted for use by U.S. military competition shooters. Features a 5" NM barrel and fitted with a tall partridge blade with a serrated rear face sight, ramped base fixed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is an HEG (Elliason) square-notch adjustable for windage and elevation dovetailed to the rear of the slide. The left of the rear sight base is marked "TRIANGLE / HEG", the right is marked "U.S.". The left of the slide is marked "NM 7791435", the right is marked "DRAKE MFG. CORP.". The left of the frame is marked "FJA" below the slide stop with a poorly struck "P" below and behind the magazine release. There is a hardness-test punch mark on the top of the slide. The right of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY / NO 1501187", "M1911 A1 U.S. ARMY", "SA", and "NM" on the trigger guard. Parkerized finish with an aluminum trigger tested to 3lb trigger pull (tested by gunsmith). Fitted with checkered walnut wood grip panels. Includes an 8-round magazine, additional shock buffers, non-marring bushing wrench and 45 easy loader. Also includes the original shipment paperwork from Erie Army Depot in Port Clinton, OH on December 28, 1964. CALIBER: 45 ACP. S/N: 1501187. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
CONDITION
Retains 97% parkerized finish with light handling marks. Grips are like new. Great bore and mechanics.
