Prewar German bolt-action sporting rifle, action marked “Zi-Di”, with 21” barrel, full Mannlicher type stock, continental styling, in original .22 hornet caliber with “Von Lengerke” and “Detmold & Co” New York agents mark, with J.P. Sauer & Son maker’s mark on barrel, and .22 hornet engraved on top rib. The action shows German .22 hornet caliber marking, 5.6x35. Zi-Di action was a quick-throw short-action, with clip release. The rifle shows an octagon to round barrel with hand-filed raised rib. The rifle is mounted with a Leopold 4x scope on American mounts which are affixed to the frame. The rifle shows a nicely checkered grade walnut stock. The rifle remains in very good condition showing 90-95% original blue, some toning at the edges, some slight toning to plum. The stocks show good checkering, some normal wear and use, minor dings, mars, scratches, rifle would date in the 1930’s. Action good, bore fine to excellent. Serial #62 on the bolt.
