Merkel model 47E, 20ga over/under shotgun, 30” barrels, hand-filed raised milled rib, non-ventilated, double triggers, auto ejectors, blue and case-hardened finish, nicely checkered select wood stocks, serial#20449. Showing Bohler steel markings on barrels. L&K with post war proofs, hand-engraved “Made in Germany” on barrels indicating export to English speaking country. The frame shows light engraving with cocking indicators. The barrels show 90-95% original blue. The frame shows 60-80% thinning and toning case hardening with some good colors still showing. The wood is very good plus with a couple of minor bruises tothe checkering, minor wear, normal marks, but great wood to metal fit. A hard-rubber recoil pad has been added. The stock measures 14-1/4” to the end of the wood, 15-1/4” to the end of the hard-rubber recoil pad. Adesirable combination of caliber and features by a major German maker. Est: $1,000 - $3,000
