Made by Marlin Firearms Company in 1906. Rifle has 20" octagon barrel which appears to be factory or possibly professionally shortened in the day. Letter states this rifle's barrel was originally 26". Barrel is blued with Rocky Mountain sights with Marlin address in front, caliber "38-55" marking at breech and "Special Smokeless Seal" marking on left barrel flat. Blued action "Marlin Safety" marking and two holes for Hepburn sight on top. Action has plain trigger and full blued tubular magazine and is serial numbered "344247". Walnut plain stock with steel carbine type butt plate. Standard walnut forearm measuring to rifle specification of 8-7/16" with steel blued nose cap. Comes with Cody Research. CALIBER: 38-55. S/N: 344247. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
CONDITION
Overall fair with metal turning plum and having areas starting to lighten. Barrel has either been cut professionally long ago or there is a mistake in the records. Stock has old well done repaired wrist crack. Dark bore with visible rifling and good mechanics.
