French style flintlock powder tester circa 1740 to 1780. 6-1/4” overall resembling flintlock pistol of this era showing carved eagle butt. The metal surfaces show light to somewhat heavy scattered pitting and erosion. The stock has been broken and the wrist and nicely repaired, shows some light refinishing. There are some small losses to the wood around the lock and sideplate that are minor. Carving and eagle head are good.From the Keith Coulter collection. Est: $750 - $1,500
