Do The Right Thing Original Production Script Of Richard Edson (Vito) Signed By Spike Lee - After two successful low-budget independent films, writer-producer-director-actor Spike Lee was given a real budget to make "Do The Right Thing" (1989), the story of racial intolerance in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn,. The film was a spectacular critical and box-office success and catapulted Lee into the ranks of major film making. With a stellar cast of not only Lee himself but Danny Aiello, John Turturro, Richard Edson, Ozzie Davis and Ruby Dee, the film struck a cord with its audience. The fact that he used several quotes from Martian Luther King at the end of the movie said volumes as to what Lee was after (especially after the explosion of violence at the end of the movie). This is the actual production script of cult actor and legendary rocker Richard Edson who played Vito, one of the only "whites" to befriend Lee's character, Mookie. It includes a personal hand-written note on the title page from Spike Lee after he personally gave the script to Richard. Ironically Spike states in his notes to Richard that he had "Bob DeNiro Cast". The on-set script also includes fascinating hand-written dialogue changes made both by Richard Edson and Spike Lee. This special rare script comes from the personal collection of Richard Edson who will, on request, personalize the script or include a personalized autographed production photo to the buyer.
