SN: 20039. Deactivated War Trophy. WWII era Japanese military striker fired semi-automatic service pistol chambered in 8mm Nambu. Dated 5.2 (June 1931) Features a blued finish, 4.6" barrel, dovetailed inverted 'v' front sight, fixed square notch rear sight, rounded trigger, small trigger guard, knurled grooved cocking piece, manual safety on the left side of the frame, push button magazine release, 8 round magazine with aluminum base plug, (Magazine missing spring, & follower) steel frame with lanyard loop on the rear and grooved wood grips. Bore is very good condition. Retains most of the original blue finish, bright drag line on the frame from the safety lever, scattered areas of light pin-prick pitting. Grooved grips are very good condition with scratches. Markings are clear and readable. Magazine isnumbered "735". Comes in Type I (A) brown leather Type 14 holster with pocket for spare striker to the right of the ammo pouch. (Striker present) . Holster is sound, with heavy wear/scuffs, missing the front closure strap, carrying strap attached. Non-Gun, cannot be made to fire, barrel plugged with steel disc, and bolt welded into place. Consigner states he purchased this piece about 35 years ago form the family of a African-American Pacific war vet. Makes a nice display.
