Colt Bisley Model 45 Colt SN: 225231
'First Generation' Single action six-shot revolver chambered in .45 Colt, manufactured circa 1902. Introduced in 1894, the Colt Bisley was marketed as a target revolver and it got it's name from the Bisley shooting range in England. Features a blued refinish, 7.5" barrel, blade front sight, 'v' notched rear sight, ejector rod, smooth trigger, wide low profile hammer spur, two-piece black (now fading towards dark brown color) hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt decor. Bore and charge holes are generally clean looking, very good condition, with some tiny pits in barrel, especially grouped about an inch from the muzzle. Metal is smooth with 20% finish retained, much fading & thinning blue as well as bare metal, darker colors in flutes and other protected areas, case color frame faded to lightly mottled bright silver. Moderate wide drag line around cylinder. Trigger guard and backstrap maintain much darker color original finish in areas near frame, fading and bare on straps. Most original fire blue color retained on some screw heads (right side of center pin latch, ejector rod housing screw, two of the triggerguard screws, some retained on grip screw). Most screw heads show little marring of slots. Grips are very good with some smoothing of features. Action is smooth with tight lock-up. Numbers match on frame, triggerguard, backstrap. Small "FB" scratched under left grip panel. Condition is NRA Very Good++ *** C&R Firearm ***
